If you value clear call quality in windy conditions, the wind noise reduction structure is a practical feature. The app-based EQ allows you to tailor the sound to your preference.
Who should skip it
You might want to look elsewhere if you require premium materials or a high-end build. This model uses a lightweight construction that prioritizes comfort over luxury feel. Key specs explained for Sony WH-CH720N
Form Factor: Over-ear
These headphones cover your entire ear rather than sitting inside the canal. This design typically provides better passive noise isolation and a more secure fit for larger ears. You get a stable seal that helps the active noise cancellation work effectively. This form factor is ideal if you prefer a classic headphone feel over the minimal profile of in-ear buds.
Battery Life: Up to 35 hours
The device offers extended playback time on a single charge. This capacity allows you to use the headphones for multiple days of commuting or work without needing to plug them in. You can rely on this duration for long-haul flights or full workweeks. This is a strong advantage for travelers and daily commuters who want to avoid frequent charging interruptions.
Weight: 6.77 ounces
The headphones have a lightweight construction that reduces pressure on your head and neck. This lower mass helps prevent fatigue during long listening sessions. You can wear them comfortably for hours without feeling weighed down. This spec is crucial for users who prioritize all-day comfort and need a pair that feels unobtrusive during extended use or travel.
Noise Cancellation: Digital Noise Cancelling
The headphones use microphones to detect and neutralize ambient sounds like engine hum or office chatter. This digital processing creates a quieter listening environment, allowing you to focus on audio content. You benefit from reduced distraction in noisy settings. This feature is essential for commuters and open-office workers who need to block out background noise to hear their music or calls clearly.
Audio Features: DSEE
This technology restores high-frequency details lost in compressed audio files. It upscales music to improve clarity and richness. You hear more detail in tracks that have been compressed for streaming. This is useful for listeners who consume a lot of streamed music and want a sound quality closer to the original studio master without needing uncompressed files.
